LOL, no bragging rights today when it comes to weather. We got a cold front last night and it was 40* this morning with a high today only supposed to be in the low 50s. (In fact it is only 50* as I write this so it probably won't even go much higher) Supposed to go down to 35* tonight and that's just WRONG. Have any idea how bizarre it feels when it's that cold and you see palm trees swaying in the breeze with a bright sunny sky in the morning? It's like, damn who turned the A/C on EVERYWHERE...

Below 50* and I feel like it's below zero. My blood is too thin for this kind of cold anymore. What makes it especially worse is the fact that a week ago we were still having record highs and I was swimming in the Gulf every weekend. Then so many people had to run their mouths and say things like "We're not even going to have a winter this year..." I kept telling everybody to STF up, February and even March could be cold. When will they learn...

GL, do you have heat? Asking only because a former brother in law lives just north of Daytona, and didn't have central heat. And from what I heard, space heaters are hard to come by in Florida.

Think about it this way....

Instead of being Bombarded by a major hurricane this year, you got some unseasonably cold weather for a few days.
Not a bad trade off!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Most people in Florida have at best "heat pumps" and they only work within a certain range of temperature. I don't have central heat but use one of those electric heaters that looks like an old fashioned radiator in my bedroom. On cold nights before going to bed I have a lot of candles lit in the livingroom and it raises the temperature in that room to a comfortable 70-75 even if it's in the 30s outside. Not only does it physically raise the room temp, I like the glow of all the candles in glass holders and wall sconces. At .05 cents each at Dollar Tree (tea light candles) I can burn 100 of them on a cold night for less than it would cost to heat the room even if I had central heat. Fortunately it's a situation that I only have to deal with maybe 1/2 dozen nights out of the year. But I burn some candles 365 nights a year, specifically in front of Roc's picture.

Since it's rare that anyone is up there, we've taken to bringing it to the 2nd floor landing and then turning down the heat. The kitchen is kinda cold in the morning, but I'm still sleeping with an open window.

It only takes about 2 flakes of the white stuff to induce panic LOL!
